In 2003 I purchased a breeding stock paint mare from Debbie and Lonnie Landrie. The experience was much more than simply a financial transaction; more like an adoption process! Debbie was very interested in ensuring her "girl" went to the right home and that I was comfortable with the horse, Dandy’s Dancing Bug (Bugs).

Since I was a very novice rider, and middle-aged, Debbie worked carefully with me to see if Bugs and I were compatible. Not only did she coach me riding in her arena on several occasions, but also rode out into her fields with me to let me feel how Bugs moved in more open spaces. She gave me instructions on how to best cue the horse and described how Bugs had been trained, using Buck Branaman techniques.

Once Bugs went home with me, Debbie checked in several times in the first few weeks to see how things were going and to make sure I was happy with the horse. She has inquired many more times in the past couple of years as to Bugs’ and my relationship, offering on more than one occasion to give me some additional riding tips if we could arrange a mutually workable time to meet. Although this has not happened due to busy schedules, her sincerity is obviously genuine.

I can recommend Debbie without reservation; her dedication to her animals and openness in her dealings are far above the norm.

To Prospective Buyers:

I had a great experience buying from these honest and caring people! In July of 2005, I purchased Bart, a four-year old Registered Quarterhorse from Debbie and Lonnie Landrie. I was immediately impressed with the time I was allowed to spend getting to know Bart. Debbie was more concerned with making sure Bart and I were a good match than making a sale. She allowed me to visit Bart and ride a couple times before the purchase to ensure that I was comfortable with him and with my decision to buy him.

At the time, my husband was deployed to Iraq, Debbie and Lonnie welcomed me into their home shortly after purchasing Bart so that I could attend the Buck Brannaman Clinic in Ellensburg. I barely knew them and yet they treated me like one of the family! (While in their home, I was also able to witness the loving tender care they give to their Corgis. They are treated like kings and queens. They are happy, healthy, and personable little dogs!)

Bart was everything Debbie said he was and more. She welcomed my questions and willingly took extra time to work me me and Bart one on one. There were no hidden vices or health issues. She even made the first vet appointment for me and gave Bart a ride to that appointment. Bart and I have since moved to Texas and we are still quite the pair. He is my pride and joy! I would highly recommend buying from Debbie and Lonnie; whether your passion is Quarterhorses or Corgis, you won't be disappointed!

Sincerely,

I purchased Moll in the Summer of '05 from Debbie & Lonnie Landrie. Not only do they raise and sell great horses, they are just great people to know! They truly care what's best for both horse and owner.

Moll was green broke when I bought her over a year ago, and since then we have learned a lot together. Deb still keeps in touch and always cares how we're doing. Moll is such a sweetheart with such a great personality, I am extremly happy with her and would recommend the Landries to anyone who's looking for a quality quarter horse.

Dear Deb & Lonnie,

What a smart puppy! Gryffin is a wonderful addition to our family and as you can see, the girls love him. He is bright eyed, healthy, and after only one week at home is crate trained and very nearly house trained! He is a sweet-natured boy who loves my lap and a good chew toy. He doesn't even bark at the cat! Our vet said he was a great example of a healthy Corgi pup.

Thank you for all your help and support in the adoption process. It's nice to know I can email or call you with any questions. I'll keep sending updated photos. Even after a week he looks much bigger!

We purchased Abby (Wanda) the day after Thanksgiving and she adapted to our home easily. Abby loves to play and enjoys the outside. She usually does not want to come back inside once outside playing. She loves everyone and has a great personality. Her first trip to the veterinarian was a great bill of health.

When we decided to get a puppy, we did lots of research and found that a Corgi would fit just perfect in the household. They have a great personality, loyalty and seem to thoroughly enjoy being around people and, oh, they love to cuddle. We decided on Heart Bar X for our breeder after looking at the puppies and talking to Lonnie and Deb. They were so gracious allowing us to come out and see the puppies and answering our tons of questions. We could see that they love their dogs and the care for the puppies was warm and loving. It was a very easy purchase and their care does not stop with the purchase.

It took me two month to decide on the type of dog that I wanted, and another two month to convince my husband. I wanted to get it right, being that this was the first dog that I have ever owned as an adult. I looked at all of the books and went to several local dog shows in the Seattle area. Once we decided on a corgi Robert and I had looked at several litters before visiting Lonnie and Debbie and we knew that their puppies were the right ones for us. They were very kind in letting us see the puppies more than once and giving us plenty of time to interact with them and ask tons of questions. As you can see we like them so well we got two! When we came to pick them up Lonnie was there to walk us through the process and made sure we had everything we needed to make a smooth transition to ownership. He even called us on more than one occasion to answer some question we had, and just to see how we were getting along. We couldn’t be happier with our boys Rocky (aka. Ronnie) and Bear (aka Jonnie). To us they are the best dogs in the world!
